If you’re looking for a treat that will have you and your taste buds craving Disney, this Copycat Disney Lime Dole Whip is as good as it gets! It’s super simple to make and screams summer fun!
Okay, I’m just going to say it.
I love Disney. Like, I LOVE Disney so hard that I have the maps to all four parks at Disney World memorized and I can tell you exactly where everything is.
So much so that I even have a whole blog sharing all of my Disney love called Happily Ever Sisters…
But, I’m not obsessed. Honestly. 😁
Having grown up in Miami, I was able to go to all of the parks multiple times and I truly wouldn’t trade that part of my childhood for anything in the world.
That’s the ONE thing that held me back from moving to Texas or even switching over my license. I now make it very clear to my mother that when I come into town to visit, she can just meet me at Disney World.
Well, that didn’t happen this summer. My schedule was full with running my business and traveling with my roller derby league. So, Disney didn’t happen and I was bouncing off the walls!
With the heat index hitting 115 degrees here in Houston, I’m craving treats that are relatively healthy yet cooling and satisfying at the same time. What I really wanted was something that I couldn’t have.
So, I made it myself!
Homemade Dole Whip
Have you heard people talking about Dole Whips and wondered what in the world they were talking about? Trust me on this…it’s one treat that you want to taste and love!
Once I got a taste, I knew that there had to be a way that I could make one myself (Yup, same thing happened when I tried to make my own GF Despicable Me Minion Cookies). And like most things in life…where there’s a will, there’s a way!
Anyways, here are some questions I’ve been asked about this Disney sweet treat:
What is Dole Whip?
It’s like ice cream, but it’s not (if that makes total sense, right?!)
It’s a whipped cold dessert that is smooth and creamy, but yet still light. It has the flavors of lime and can actually come in a variety of other flavors with pineapple being the most popular.
Where can you find this sweet treat at Disney?
It’s crazy popular at Disney and you can just about find it at any little concession stand located all over the parks. But with this recipe, you can now make it and eat it from the comfort of your own home!
Are there other Dole Whip Flavors?
There are several, but can honestly be any flavors that you’d like! And if there is a flavor that you’re craving, why not just make it up yourself. You can make and try banana, coconut, pineapple, and even strawberry!
Dole Whip Ingredients
Here are the ingredients you will need to make this dessert recipe:
- 2 cups Frozen limes
- ½ cup Almond milk (Coconut milk if you like extra sweetness)
- 1 1/2 tbsp Raw Honey
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- ½ tsp Lime juice
- Lime slices (optional for garnish)
How To Make Disney Dole Whip Recipe
To start off this recipe, stick about 6 medium-sized limes into the freezer until they are fully frozen. This is super important because this will set the texture of this dessert!
Haute Tip: Make sure you sliced the limes evenly before you still them in the freezer.
First, add the frozen limes to the bottom of the blender. For this recipe, I used my Ninja Mega Kitchen Blender to blend all of my ingredients together.
After the limes, add the almond milk, raw honey, lemon juice, and lime juice.
Blend the mixture in 30-second intervals and making sure all the chunks are blended in until it is completely smooth. This usually takes me about 3-5 minutes!
Once it’s done, I sometimes like to stick the homemade dole whip back into the freezer for about 5 minutes to make sure it is nice and frozen.
How To Serve This Lime Dole Whip
I’ve seen this dessert served many ways but my favorite way is to scoop them up into festive glasses with a fun straw or dessert spoon.
You can also serve this in some ice cream cones or inside of a pineapple!
See how truly simple this recipe is? Get ready for this to be your newest summer favorite! Once you make it, you’ll have all your family and friends asking for the recipe as well.
