My name is Vee (or if you like to be more formal, call me Veronica) and Welcome to Your Haute Mess!
I started this blog as a place to share everyday life experiences in the perspective of a girl in her 20s’ learning what the real world is all about. Things from moving out on my own for the very first time to starting my own business at the age of 22 (#bossbabe all the wayyyyy), these are accomplishments I’m proud of and I worked damn hard to get there.
That 👆might sound awesome and like my life is on track but I wasn’t joking about how hard it is. I honestly suck at balancing everything in my life. While my business is booming, my health takes a dive and it shouldn’t have to be that way. I try my best every day and writing everything out is a way for me to figure things out. Plus, I get to share it with all of you and knowing that it might help someone who’s in the same situation just motivates me even more.
I’ve pretty much been overweight all my life and I’m TIRED. I’ve tried every diet out there and it honestly doesn’t work. Trust me. I wish it did just as much as you. But something I came to realize is how much food ties into every single aspect of my life.
When I’m upset, I eat. When I’m happy, I eat. Sometimes, I make an excuse just to eat and that’s not healthy. So I reevaluated my messy life and found out that it all begins at the very bottom: my WHY.
Why am I doing this to myself?
So, I decided no more. I want to live a healthy life all around: from my food to my body to my thoughts and everything in between.
Your Haute Mess is a compilation of everything that I love, have learned or tried. I’m here to show you gluten-free recipes that actually taste good, healthy lifestyle choices that aren’t too hard to do, how I am converting my home into a non-toxic living space, trading out my beauty products for safer skincare and even some awesome motivational stories that will inspire you to create your own!
