Okay. I’m just going to say it. I have an obsession with essential oils. Like I have over 30 different kinds of oils (not including multiple of my usual go-to’s) and at least 3 different diffusers in my home. Today, I’m going to teach y’all how to use essential oils for every day of the week!
I know many people believe them to just be the “thing” at the moment but generations of people have been using them for years as part of a more natural way of living.
Essential oils have so many uses. They can be used:
- Aromatically
- Topically
- Internally
You can even use them in household solutions! The only thing I use in my home is Young Living’s Thieves Cleaning Concentrated Solution which can be diluted to mop your floors and wipe down your countertops.
As you can tell, they are a huge part of my life and I use them on a DAILY basis.
If you don’t already incorporate them into your daily routine, you’re really missing out on a variety of better (and natural) possibilities.
Keep reading to learn more about how to use 7 essential oils every day of the week!
Lemon
Because Lemon oil is so versatile, it’s one of the most useful oils to always have on hand (Hence my stock of 3 bottles at a time.) Not only is it’s scent so light and refreshing but its antioxidant properties can support a healthy immune system.
Tip: Use it in your favorite diffuser blend or put several drops on a clean cotton cloth to take with you to sniff “on-the-go.” Here are 12 Lemon Essential Oil Uses!
Frankincense
Frankincense oil isn’t just for the holidays. This beneficial oil has been said to instill feelings of spirituality and inner strength. I love to diffuse this while I am doing some yoga or meditating in the mornings.
Tip: Apply 1-2 drops of Frankincense to your face and neck to visually minimize blemishes or add a few drops to your dry skin for a healthier looking glow.
Peppermint
Peppermint oil is perfect all year round when you need to cool down fatigued muscles after a workout or create a focused environment for school work. Better yet, with Peppermint Vitality, you can add 1 drop of this oil to a batch of homemade brownies to make seasonal peppermint brownies! SO GOOD!
Tip: Apply a few drops of Peppermint oil to your temples or neck to give you a cool and refreshing feeling and promote positivity.
Tea Tree
Tea Tree oil, like Lemon, is one of the most common essential oils that can be found in one’s stash. It is used in many beauty products because of its ability to help soothe and beautify the appearance of your skin.
Tip: Apply 1-3 drops of Tea Tree oil to your skin and gently rub it. You can even add it to your favorite carrier oil (Mine is Young Living’s Massage Oil or coconut oil) and use it during a massage session.
Orange
Orange essential oil is known to have a sweet, peaceful aroma that can inspire creativity and harmony. Its fresh citrus scent can be combined in your diffuser with other oils such as Grapefruit or Lemon, to give your day the boost it needs.
Tip: Add 8-12 drop of orange with witch hazel in a glass spritzer and spray your linens, sheets, and closets to leave a bright, fresh scent.
Lavender
Lavender almost has an endless amount of ways to use this oil. It has been known to have a relaxing and calming effect. You can use it to moisturize your skin or even add a few drops to water to use a freshener in your home.
I personally use Lavender for EVERYTHING and it’s not just because of its relaxing, floral scent.
Tip: If you’re having trouble unwinding from your day, use this oil to make Orange Lavender Bath Bombs and pop one of these in the bath to help relax you. If you’re feeling restless, use a few drops of this oil in your diffuser to help settle you down for the night.
Thieves
Thieves is a blend composed of cloves, rosemary, and other herbs which gives off a rich, spicy aroma. It’s versatile uses are incredibly beneficial and if taken internally, can help support a healthy immune system! Every morning, I take a glass of water and add a few drops of lemon and thieves to start my day right.
Tip: If you’re feeling chilly, add a few drops of Thieves to your bath water with Epsom salts to stay extra toasty.
Young Living
I’m sure you’ve noticed I mentioned Young Living a couple of times and I wanted to share why I use them every day.
First of all, the quality of oils is outstanding and because of the variety available, it’s super-easy to come up with your own favorite blends (Lavender, Orange, and Lemon are constantly diffusing in my home).
Most importantly, I use Young Living because it works for me and the way I live my life. Now, I’m not telling you what to use but what I can share with you is how much my life (and my way of thinking) has changed over 2 years.
